Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River, on the fringes of Mana Pools National Park, lies Chikwenya. A place so special that it imprints upon your heart and fills you with a warmth that can only be described as the spirit of Africa. We designed 7 luxury tents for the camp, of which 2 are family units with private pools. The tents and public spaces are etched into the contours of the land, gradually tapering toward the flood plain, allowing uninterrupted game viewing from any vantage point at the lodge. At every level, we practised restraint, refusing to work with colour and allowing only the natural habitat to guide the design and colour palette. The result is that the interior spaces feel less like rooms and more like extensions of the wild. We are proud to say that 90% of the furniture and decor pieces included at Chikwenya are produced by local artisans, within her home of Southern Africa.
